Public Alpha terms
Use CurioBeam in good faith. Claims do not transfer editorial control.
These terms describe the current Public Alpha participation rules for browsing, app submissions, Maker accounts, claims, proof, and corrections. CurioBeam may refine these terms as the product develops and before introducing materially different or paid services.
Site use
Use the service lawfully and responsibly
You may browse and use CurioBeam for normal product discovery, submission, and Maker participation. Do not interfere with the service, probe or bypass access controls, automate abusive traffic, impersonate another person or organization, or use CurioBeam to distribute malicious, deceptive, or unlawful material.
Submissions
Submission is a request for review
App submission is currently free and does not guarantee publication, indexing, ranking, a badge, an editorial score, or any particular placement. CurioBeam may match a submitted URL to an existing product, decline a submission, request more evidence, correct inaccurate information, or remove material that does not fit the service.
Submit information you reasonably believe is accurate and that you are allowed to provide. Do not submit credentials, private keys, malware, confidential third-party material, or data that CurioBeam did not ask for.
Maker accounts
Authentication is not ownership
When Maker authentication is enabled, passwordless sign-in identifies the account using the email address supplied to the authentication flow. Signing in or creating an account does not prove ownership of an app and grants no app-scoped authority by itself.
You are responsible for access to the email account used for Maker authentication and for signing out of shared or untrusted devices. CurioBeam may suspend or restrict Maker access where reasonably needed to protect the service, investigate abuse, resolve competing claims, or enforce these terms.
Claims
A claim is reviewed, not self-approved
A Maker claim asks CurioBeam to review a relationship with a specific canonical app. CurioBeam may consider website/DNS, official GitHub, work-email, and manual-review evidence. Matching a company or work domain does not automatically grant authority over every product tied to that organization.
Do not submit passwords, API keys, OAuth tokens, DNS challenge secrets, inbox contents, or other credentials as claim proof. Proof strength, verification status, and authorization decisions remain reviewer-controlled.
Authorization
Permissions are explicit, scoped, and revocable
Where CurioBeam grants Maker capabilities, they are tied to an exact app and explicit permission scope. A grant can expire or be revoked, and future protected actions may be denied immediately after that change. More than one Maker may be authorized for an app, and one Maker may be authorized for more than one app.
Maker permissions do not include publishing/unpublishing, index/noindex decisions, ranking, scoring, badges, self-verification of evidence, or resolution of material editorial conflicts unless CurioBeam explicitly changes the product and these terms in the future.
Corrections
Developer input remains attributable source material
Makers may provide factual corrections and supporting evidence through available channels. A Maker correction is a proposal for review and does not directly overwrite CurioBeam's normalized public facts. CurioBeam may accept, reject, partially accept, or request more evidence for a correction.
CurioBeam aims to correct factual errors when reliable evidence supports the change. Editorial judgments, rankings, badges, and similar CurioBeam-authored assessments remain CurioBeam decisions even when a developer disagrees with them.
Submitted material
Permission to operate the review workflow
By submitting an app URL, claim, proof reference, correction, or other requested material, you give CurioBeam permission to receive, store, review, compare, and use that material as reasonably necessary to operate the relevant submission, claim, authorization, correction, safety, and audit workflows. Private claim/proof material is not made public merely because it was submitted.
Availability
Public Alpha features can change
CurioBeam is in Public Alpha. Features may change, be unavailable, or be withdrawn, and account/claim functionality may remain disabled until its rollout gates are cleared. CurioBeam does not promise uninterrupted availability or that every submitted app, claim, correction, or proof will be reviewed within a particular time.
Privacy
Personal data follows the Privacy notice
CurioBeam's handling of browsing analytics, authentication data, private claims/proofs, hosting logs, retention, and privacy requests is described in the Privacy notice. The Privacy notice is part of the product's current transparency record and should be read alongside these terms.
